Scrumhalf Jack Sheridan '14 led all scores with three conversions and a penalty kick for nine points. Tries were scored by 8man Lucas Garvin '14, flyhalf Ben Moore '12, flanker Mike Wrotniak '12, and hooker Mike McGilvery '13.
B SIDE RECAP:
Georgetown B defeated UMBC B with the final score of 26-14. In the first half, UMBC were ahead of the Hoyas 14-5 for their only scores of the game. Georgetown entered the try zone three more times in the second half to secure the win. Tries were scored by lock Peter Sykes '15, 8man Alex Skarzynski '15, prop Josh Schoen '14, and lock Conor Shea '15. Scrumhalf Marcus Stromeyer '15 added three conversions for six points.
Hoyas Win 13th Straight Capitol Cup
April 28, 2011 -- Georgetown completed its spring season with a victory against Catholic University, 33-15. Catholic applied the pressure early inside Hoya territory. As the opposition threatened to score, flanker Lucas Garvin '14 intercepted a pass and ran the field's length for the game's first score. The Hoyas added two more scores for a 22-0 lead at the half. In the second half, Georgetown's infractions allowed Catholic to enter the tryzone twice. Georgetown added another try and two penalty kicks to secure its 13th straight Capitol Cup Championship for the best team in the District.
Wing Jack Sheridan '14 led the team scoring with two conversions and three penalty kicks for 13 points. Tries were scored by flanker Lucas Garvin '14, hooker Mike McGilvery, co-captain Jordan Maitland '12, and flanker Jimmy Burbage '11 scored his first A Side try.
Cherry Blossom Tourney Champs
April 3, 2011 -- Georgetown captured the 45th Annual Cherry Blossom Tournament Championship with a victory against Binghamton University, 14-8 in the finals. Binghamton struck the scoreboard early for the only try the Hoyas allowed all weekend. The Hoyas' two converted tries in the first half secured the win to mark Georgetown's third Cherry Blossom Tournament Championship since 2005 and 2008.
Co-captains Karl Godlewski '11 and prop Jordan Maitland '12 scored a try. Wing Jack Sheridan '14 converted two kicks.
