November 4, 2006 PRU Consolation vs. University of Maryland Baltimore Country
Accokeek, MD -- Georgetown defeated the University of Maryland Baltimore County with the final score of 36-10 to secure the third PRU spot in the Mid-Atlantic Regional Playoffs in the Spring. The Hoyas opened up with 17 straight points until UMBC entered the scoreboard early in the second half. Georgetown answered back with three tries to close out the fall season. Thank you to all our family and friends' support this fall season, and we're looking forward to the spring season. Wing Steve McMullin '07 led the team scoring for 21 points with two tries, a penalty kick and four conversions. Scrumhalf Dan Castrigano '09, wing John Castrigano '07, and flanker Richard Vilmenay '08 each scored a try.

October 28, 2006 PRU Semifinals vs. Salisbury University
Salisbury -- Georgetown lost to Salisbury University in the PRU Semifinal round with the final score of 13-27. The Hoyas fell into a halftime deficit and an early try in the second half. Georgetown sparked a late comeback to lead into next weekend's PRU consolation match. The top three teams will qualify for the spring's MARFU Regional playoffs. Wing Steve McMullin '07 led all scores with eight points for two penalty kicks and a conversion. Flanker Richard Vilmenay '08 scored the only try for the Hoyas.

October 21, 2006 PRU Quarterfinals vs. Naval Academy C
Washington, DC -- Georgetown defeated the Naval Academy DII Team with the final score of 44-14 to advance to the PRU semifinal round. Tries were scored by inside center Joe Kemper '09, fullback James Grant '09, outside center Sean McNamara '09, wings Steve McMullin '07, and John Castrigano '07. Steve McMullin led all scores with 24 points for two tries, two penalty kicks, and four conversions.

Georgetown scored all of their points in the first half and were held scoreless in the second half, holding Navy from their second half comeback. Tries were scored by lock Brian Johnson '09, prop Alex Gorodetsky '09, and lock Matt Freeman '07. Flyhalf Brian Litwak '10 added a conversion.

October 14, 2006 vs. American University
Bethesda, MD -- Georgetown dominated American University in its final regular season game with the final score of 78-0. The Hoyas came out strong scoring 48 points in the first half and 11 different players scoring tries. Georgetown will host next Saturday in the PRU Quarterfinals against the PRU East Conference #3 team. Team Captain Keith Summa '07 led all scores with 17 points for a try and six conversions. Wing Steve McMullin '07 scored a try and three conversions for 11 points. Outside center Sean McNamara '09 scored two tries, and tries were scored by lock Chris Watson '07, eightman Ben Stone '08, wing Mike Masterson '08, inside center Joe Kemper '09, flanker Richard Vilmenay '08, and flyhalf Alex Parkhouse '08. First A side tries were scored by prop Tom Tully '09 and flanker Jeff Conahan '08.

Georgetown B continued the domination against American B with the final score of 70-0. Flyhalf Brian Litwak '10 led all scores with a try and five conversions for 15 points. October 7, 2006 vs. Mt. St. Mary's College
Emmitsburg, MD -- Georgetown defeated Mt. St. Mary's with the final score of 40-7 to move into second place in the PRU West Conference standings. The Hoyas entered the scoreboard first with a penalty kick by flyhalf Keith Summa '07. In the next play, Mt. St. Mary's gained the lead momentarily with a converted try. Georgetown responded with five tries and 37 unanswered points to secure the win. Mt. St. Mary's lost to Catholic two weeks ago, 23-21. Georgetown will play American University next Saturday for the final regular season game. Wing Steve McMullin '07 led all scores with a try, penalty kick and two conversions for 12 points. Flyhalf Keith Summa '07 converted two penalty kicks and a conversion for eight points. Inside center Joe Kemper '09 added a try and first A side scores were collected by prop Tim Brown '09, outside center Henry Delouvrier '09, and eightman Ben Stone '08.

September 30, 2006 vs. Catholic University
Washington, DC -- Georgetown fell to Catholic University with the final score of 13-18. The match was delayed for over 40 minutes after only six minutes into play to carry off an injured Catholic player. The inspired Cardinals scored 15 points in the next 10 minutes when play resumed. The Hoyas' multiple momentum changes and late comeback in the closing minutes fell short, ending Georgetown's streak of an undefeated regular season the last four years. This also marks Catholic's first defeat of the Hoyas since 1997. Georgetown will play Mt. St. Mary's next Saturday for the second spot in the PRU West Conference. Tries were scored by fullback Sean McNamara '09 and lock Will Szczerbiak '07's first A side try. Wing Steve McMullin '07 added a penalty kick.

September 23, 2006 vs. Frostburg State University
Gravelly Point, VA -- Georgetown finished strong in its first PRU conference outing against Frostburg State University with the final score of 49-5. The Hoyas scored nine unanswered tries til Frostburg entered the scoreboard in the closing minutes. Wing Steve McMullin '07 led the team scoring with two tries and a conversion for 12 points. Newcomer wing Phil Cooney '10 scored his first two A side tries for 10 points. Inside center Alex Parkhouse '08 scored a try and a conversion for seven points. Fullback Sean McNamara '09, hooker Eric Pallotta '07, outside center Joe Kemper '09 each scored a try; and wing Mike Masterson '08 scored his first A side try. Next Saturday, the Hoyas will take on the undefeated Catholic Cardinals for the top spot in the PRU West.

September 16, 2006 vs. West Chester University
West Chester, PA -- Georgetown travelled to Eastern Pennsylvania Union territory to take on Division 1 team, West Chester University in its second preseason weekend of matches. Both teams scored two tries, but the difference was Georgetown's converted penalty kicks to secure the win, 21-15. Wing Steve McMullin '07 led the team scoring with a try, three penalty kicks and a conversion for 16 points. Wing John Castrigano '07 scored a try in the first half. The Hoyas will begin their PRU conference play next weekend against Frostburg State University.

Georgetown B got more playing experience in three quarters of play to lose to West Chester B with the final score of 17-27. The Hoyas scored a try in each quarter by wing Henry Delouvrier '09, outside center Mike Masterson '08, and lock, eightman, prop Andrew Benson '09, respectively. Fullback Phil Cooney '10 converted a kick in the second quarter.

September 9, 2006 Blue & Gray Classic
Manassas, VA -- Georgetown opened the fall season with four games in the Blue and Gray Classic held in Signal Hill Park in Manassas, VA, a Civil War landmark. Teams from the North compete against Southern teams in college rugby's version of the Civil War. After a week and a half in school and over 60 players coming out for rugby, the Hoyas were eager to take on some of the South's best.
A vs. Clemson University
Georgetown opened the day against the South's D1 Champs and National qualifier, Clemson University, with the final score of 10-14. The season's first points were scored by fullback Sean McNamara '09. Clemson returned with a converted try; and wing Steve McMullin '07 converted a penalty kick before the half. Clemson made tactical substitutions as Clemson did not want their northern trip spoiled by the Hoyas. Great defense by both teams in the second half held the Hoyas scoreless and a try by Clemson.

C vs. UVA
At the same time, the C Team consisting mostly of new players and underclassmen got their first rugby action against the University of Virginia B Team. The Hoyas fell to a halftime deficit of 12 points and added a try in the second half by outside center Phil Cooney '10 for a final score of 5-12.

B vs. College of William and Mary
In the second game, Georgetown B defeated Virginia Union D3 Team, College of William & Mary, 10-0. The only score in the first half was a penalty conversion by wing John Castrigano '07. The Hoyas displayed better ball distribution and maintained defense in the second half. Flyhalf James Grant '09 scored the only try of the game and Castrigano added the conversion.

A vs. University of Virginia
In the final game of the day, Georgetown A faced Virginia's state champs, University of Virginia and gave up two late tries for the final score of 17-19. Wing Steve McMullin '07 scored a try, kicked in a conversion and penalty kick for a team leading ten points. Wing John Castrigano '09 scored a try and made the conversion for seven points.
